How to afford a Mykonos villa

If there is one dream that most of us seem to share, that is living the good life or, to put it in other words, the life of the rich and the famous. Let’s face it, we would all like to spend some days away from our daily life in some luxurious villa or mansion, not worrying about anything and living a few days of ridiculous luxury. Nowadays, it seems that this dream can come true relatively easily. This is evidenced by the fact that thousands of people each year go on so called luxury vacations during which they get to stay in a very luxurious villa in their destination of choice.

When it comes to those so called luxury vacations, there is one destination that seems to stand out: the small Greek island called Mykonos. A lot of people from the four corners of the world dream of spending a summer in one of the many gorgeous villas that can be found there. How can one afford such a vacation though? Let’s see some tips that will help you make your dream of a villa vacation in Mykonos come true!

Do your research

Mykonos is full of villas and it goes without saying that their daily rates and features are not the same. Since you will probably be on a budget, it’s only logical to assume that certain villas – like the ones where Hollywood stars stay in when they visit the island – will be out of your reach. So, in order to save yourself trouble and time, just go to Google and type Mykonos villas and the amount that you are able to spend, this way you will see what a lot of property management agencies – of which there are many in Mykonos – have to offer. If the rates seem a bit TOO extravagant, don’t get disappointed!

Get your friends together

Here’s something that you need to know before you even decide to go on a villa vacation: unless you have saved for years or you are a CEO of a large company or a Hollywood star, booking a villa just for yourself is going to be nearly impossible because of the daily rates. For most of us “normies” the only way to experience the glory of a luxury vacation is to share the experience with our friends, which will – hopefully – make it even more fun and memorable. What you need to understand is that the rate for a villa is the same, regardless of the number of people in it. Get your friends together and split the bill and that way, you will all get to live the good life for a few days and for less than what you’d pay for a hotel room in Mykonos.

Deny extra services

Some property management firms might try to hike the rates by offering services such as VIP transfers and professional chefs staying at the villa for the duration of your stay. If you are on a budget, don’t opt for those services as they will cause the rates t sky-rocket.
